Rental Policy

Bookings

Once you have chosen a carrier to rent, tell us how long you would like to rent it for, starting on which date. You can check the specific availability of every carrier on its calendar. When you have added the carrier to your shopping cart, pay the rental fee to confirm your booking.

Postage

Postage and packing costs: between HK$35-HK$65 depending on the choice of your carrier. This postage fee will be deducted from the deposit when it is returned to you at the end of your rental period.

Deposits

A returnable deposit is required on every rental. You must ensure we receive the deposit before we can dispatch the rented carrier to you. The deposit will be returned to you as soon as we receive the carrier back on time and in the same condition as we sent it to you. The deposit for each rental carrier is $700. Most of our carriers have a replacement value of more than $700, but we have kept the price low so that it can be affordable for most people. However, if the rented carrier is lost or damaged whilst in your possession or in transit back to us, you will need to pay the full replacement value of the carrier.

Usage

The rental carrier will be dispatched to you on the first day of your rental period. Whichever rental period you have chosen, an extra 2 days will be added, so you should get the full amount of time with the carrier. Please remember that you are responsible for the carrier during the rental period, so do look after it.

Returns

When you return the rental carrier, please use the self-addressed envelope included in the original parcel and include any accessories that came with the carrier. Please ensure that the carrier is back with us on or before the date, otherwise you may be charged a late fee. Please also ensure that you return the carrier to us using registered post and keep proof of postage. Don’t forget, the carrier is your responsibility until we sign to say we’ve received it.

Non-returns

If you do not return the rental carrier 14 days after the original agreed return date, you will be liable for the full replacement value of the sling or carrier. Please be aware that this may be more or less than the deposit value. Please ensure the contact details you give us are correct as we will attempt to contact you during this period. However, be aware it is your responsibility to return the sling or carrier on time.

 

Late fees

If the carrier has not been returned a few days after the due date and we have not been notified, you will be charged a late fee of HK$20 per day that the carrier is late, until it is returned to us.

 

Extended rentals

You can extend the rental period before the final day, and as long as the carrier has not been booked by another customer (you will be able to check this information in the date search of that particular carrier). You just need to email us on hello@theslingcollection.com and we will send an invoice to you for the extension fee. You will be charged between $20-40 (depending on the carrier) per week for the extension of your existing rental. If another customer has already booked those dates, you must return the carrier on the previously agreed date.

 

Damages

Please notify us immediately on receipt of a damaged or dirty rented carrier. Once you have notified us, you have 3 days to return the carrier to us for a full refund or replacement. If you do not then return the carrier in 3 days, we will assume that you have decided to keep the carrier for the duration of your rental period and so will not be eligible for a refund or replacement. The return of a carrier that has been damaged and is unsafe for use will need to replaced. You will be liable for the full replacement cost of a new carrier. If the replacement cost is higher than the deposit, you will be charged the remaining balance.

 

Cancellations

You can cancel a carrier booking at any point before we ship it to you. If it is cancelled more than 28 days before the start of the rental period, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 14-27 days before the start of the rental period will receive 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the start of the rental period will not receive any refund. No partial refunds will be given for early returns. Any deposits paid will, of course, be returned in full.
